About the Owner
Shavon D. is the is a lifelong Washingtonian, born in the District of Columbia and raised in the surrounding county of Prince Georges in Maryland.
As a graduate of Laurel High School (1996) and Towson University (2006), Shavon has always been known for expressing herself through multiple forms of "The Arts".
Her first love is music (via vocal performance and poetry), which she used to express herself often throughout her childhood into adulthood as members of The WPAS Children of the Gospel, the Prince George's County Honors Chorus, as well as several church choirs/ensembles and local cover bands throughout Maryland and DC.
She categorizes visual arts (via acrylic paintings, charcoal/pastel sketching, and other crafts) is a close second to her heart.
By profession, Shavon is an IT Consultant, as well as a REALTOR® licensed in MD and DC specializing in investment properties with Exit Right Realty in Laurel, MD.
By trade, she is the Owner/Operator of HairCUSTOMIZED, LLC based in Laurel, MD. As a licensed freelance Makeup Artist with more than twenty years of working experience, Shavon specializing in Special FX, Stage, and Character Makeup design. As a freelance Natural Hair Stylist with over twenty-five years of experience, she specializes as a Sisterlocks Consultant, Microloc Consultant, and Natural Hair Extension and Repair Provider in the areas of Traditional Loc / Microloc / Microlink / I-Tip Extensions, Braided Extensions, Crochets, and Intricate Cornrows).
Simply put, Shavon enjoys customizing the salon experience for each and every one of the clients she services on an individual bases.

Makeup Customized is a subdivision of the Hair Customized brand.
Though our passion is in the area of Special XF, Stage, and Character makeup art, we offer a variety of customized makeup artistry services such as Editorial, Run-way and Special Events (Personal and Business Portraits, Prom, Birthday, Public Speaking Events, Special/Holiday Events) as well. .
By trade, Shavon is also a licensed freelance Makeup Artist with over 18 years of working experience. She specializes in the areas of Natural Hair, along with Stage/Character/Special FX Makeup design and application.
Shavon prides herself in being a quality and results-driven results with nearly 20 years experience of designing and creating work that builds, supports and executes the vision of other “Creatives” across many sectors of The Arts, by developing and maintaining effective professional relationships, while executing organizational brand promotions and strategies.
